Step 2
- Test the appropriateness of each item by putting each item into your choke tester. Note: Any item that fits entirely within the choke tester is small enough to be considered a choking hazard for children 3 years old and younger.
- On Day 2 of your module packet, make a list of the items that are safe and unsafe for a child under the age of three to have.
Step 3
- Listed below are different “play” activities. For each activity, describe the appropriate age range (infant, toddler, or preschooler) for a child to participate in the activity.
- Then, describe any area of development that could be affected by the child participating in the activity. You may use the Skills for Life book pg. 195-202 for completing this activity.
- Record your responses on Day 2 in your module packet. Be sure to list the activity and the appropriate age range.
