Step 1
- Wash your hands.
- Find your glass measuring cup, liquid measuring cups, measuring spoons, and pot.
- Follow the directions to the following recipe.
- Measure out the following ingredients.
- Call the teacher over to check your sauce
- Find the Tupperware container and lid for your class period and pour your sauce into the container. Leave the lid off to allow your sauce to cool.
- Do your dishes. Be sure to follow directions above the sink for cleaning the kitchen.
- Put the lid on your container and put it in the refrigerator for tomorrow.
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 (14-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon fresh black pepper
Directions:
- Heat a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Add the olive oil to the pan, allowing it to warm for 1 minute, then add the garlic and sauté it for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until it's golden brown and fragrant.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar and crushed red pepper flakes (optional), stirring to combine.
- Simmer the sauce for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, then season it with additional salt, pepper or sugar, to taste.
- Call the teacher over to check your sauce
